Sources and licensing
Which organisations MADLUL reads, which it holds, and on what basis.
How to read this list
- Active
- The source is being read on its schedule and items from it can reach publication.
- Held
- The source is in our records but contributes nothing. The reason is shown against it.
- Failing
- The last attempt to read this source returned an error. It is shown rather than hidden.
What a listing does and does not mean
A listed source means MADLUL reads that organisation’s published material and attributes it. It does not mean a partnership, an endorsement, a licence to republish in full, or any commercial relationship. We do not have such relationships, and we do not claim them.
Where a source is marked as needing a licence before its material can be used, that requirement is recorded and the source is held until it is satisfied. Aggregating a link to something publicly published is not the same thing as being licensed to republish it, and we treat those as different questions.
Every claim can be traced to the source that made it
When a story contains a claim, the claim is stored against the source it came from, so the route from a sentence on a page back to the organisation that said it can be followed. This is why a story can show how many independent sources it rests on.
Corrections to this list
If you believe a source is mischaracterised here, or that we are using material we should not, tell us through the contact page. A licensing complaint is treated as a defect, not as a dispute to be managed.
