About MADLUL
An independent news and intelligence publication covering the Middle East, in Arabic and English.
What MADLUL is
MADLUL is a Middle East news publication. It reports from a defined regional focus rather than attempting a thin global feed, and it publishes in English and in Arabic as two distinct editions — not one edition translated into the other.
Its distinguishing claim is not speed or volume. It is that every published story carries a visible confidence label, that every claim can be traced to the source that made it, and that the decision to publish is made by a person and recorded as such.
What MADLUL is not
- Not an AI product
- Automation here is a preparation layer — assembling, extracting, classifying. Every decision to publish is made and recorded by a human operator. The platform is not marketed as an artificial-intelligence system, and does not claim to be one.
- Not a real-time wire
- MADLUL reads approved sources on a schedule. It is not a live market or breaking-news terminal, and it does not claim continuous coverage.
- Not exhaustive
- Published coverage is currently concentrated on a small number of regional beats, and the section pages reflect that. Where a section has little published material it shows little — we do not pad a section to make it look fuller.
- Not partnered
- MADLUL has no content partnerships, no distribution deals and no commercial relationships with the organisations it reads. Nothing on this site should be read as implying one.
Two editions, not one translated twice
A story belongs to the edition matching the language it was reported in. We do not machine-translate to fill a gap, because a reader of the Arabic edition is entitled to Arabic reporting rather than machine text beneath an Arabic masthead.
This has a visible consequence: the two editions do not carry identical stories, and the counts differ between them.
The products
- MADLUL LIVE
- A running feed of significant developments as they are recorded.
- MADLUL SIGNALS
- Observations drawn from the source record, each stating what would confirm it. Signals are never presented as predictions, and none is published before a human review.
- MADLUL VAULT
- Documents, sources and discoveries, with what remains unknown stated alongside. Nothing is published there before a human review.
- MADLUL BRIEF
- A regional briefing by country.
Where it stands today
MADLUL is a young publication. The desk is small, the source list is deliberately narrow, and the archive is short. Sections may look sparse, and some planned surfaces may contain little until the underlying review work is complete.
We state that here rather than presenting an unfinished publication as a finished one. What is published is published under the standards described on this site.
